چکیده

Image sequence restoration has been steadily gaining in importance with the arrival of digital video broadcasting. Automated treatment of archived video material typically involves dealing with replacement noise in the form of`blotches' with varying intensity levels and additivègrain' noise. In the case of replacement noise the problem is essentially one of missing data which must be detected and then reconstructed based upon surrounding spatio-temporal information, 1,2 while the additive noise can be treated as a noise reduction problem. This paper introduces a fully Bayesian speciication of the problem. Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) methodology is applied to the joint detection and removal of both replacement and additive noise components. The work presented builds upon the Bayesian image detection/interpolation methods developed in 3{5 including now the ability to reduce noise in an image sequence as well as reconstruct the image intensity information within missing regions.

Motion Estimation Image and Video Processing

Image data in an image sequence remains mostly the same between frames along motion trajectories. This is the same as saying that the scene content does not change much from frame to frame. To exploit the image data redundancy in image sequences there is a need to estimate motion in the image sequence so one can process along motion trajectories After motion estimation, modules such as noise re...

A Deep Recurrent Framework for Cleaning Motion Capture Data

We present a deep, bidirectional, recurrent framework for cleaning noisy and incomplete motion capture data. It exploits temporal coherence and joint correlations to infer adaptive filters for each joint in each frame. A single model can be trained to denoise a heterogeneous mix of action types, under substantial amounts of noise. A signal that has both noise and gaps is preprocessed with a sec...

Joint Motion Estimation and Layer Segmentation in Transparent Image Sequences - Application to Noise Reduction in X-Ray Image Sequences

This paper is concerned with the estimation of the motions and the segmentation of the spatial supports of the different layers involved in transparent X-ray image sequences. Classical motion estimation methods fail on sequences involving transparent effects since they do not explicitly model this phenomenon. We propose a method that comprises three main steps: initial blockmatching for two-lay...

Andparameter Estimation for Image Sequenceswith Missing

This paper presents a new scheme for interpolation of missing data in image sequences, an important problem in many areas including archived motion picture lm and digital video. A uniied framework for image data modelling and motion estimation is adopted which is based on 3-dimensional autoregressive (3DAR) models with motion correction. A fully Bayesian methodology is implemented using the Gib...

Noise Robust Motion Refinement for Motion Compensated Noise Reduction

A motion refinement algorithm is proposed to enhance motion compensated noise reduction (MCNR) efficiency. Instead of the vector with minimum distortion, the vector with minimum distance from motion vectors of neighboring blocks is selected as the best motion vector among vectors which have distortion values within the range set by noise level. This motion refinement finds more accurate motion ...
